Being so insanely busy at work has my personal life in shambles at the moment. Lol!  Working 11 hours a day and 6 hours on Saturdays leaves very little time to do anything, really.  I haven't cooked any new and exciting meals in so long.  Hence the lack of fun recipe posts.  I can't wait to have some normalcy back after 4/15. I did manage to complete my make-up vanity project.  Pics + post on that coming soon! :)

Hello, Spring!

March 20, 2013

{Gray Stretch Ankle Pant ~ Target / Gray Sweatshirt ~ Olive and Oak via Hautelook / Navy Blazer ~ Thrifted / Pale Pink Suede Perforated Flats ~ Steve Madden via Nordstrom Rack / Pink Handbag ~ Just Fab "Magnate" / Jewel Necklace ~ H&M}

Happy first day of spring! Finally! :)  I loved this outfit - no fuss; just pulled together basic and some cute flats.  ... and these are my new favorites.  I am so very busy at work these days so things need to be kept simple.  Have you tried the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipcolors?  I am in love with them!  I am rocking "Hot Plum" in these pics and I can't get enough.  The color is so very pigmented and the formula is so smooth.   I also have "Fuchsia Flash" - so bright and pretty!  Well they all are...I want every single color. :)

Workwear: Color Block

March 13, 2013

{Cobalt Pencil Skirt ~ Thrifted / Fuchsia T-shirt ~ Gap / Black Silk Blazer ~ Thrifted / Patent Leopard Belt ~ Asos / Leopard Suede and Patent Pumps ~ Isaac Mizrahi for Target {old!}}

Color blocking is such a cheat for me when it comes to putting together an easy outfit for work.  I can't think of anything easier than grabbing a few solid colored basics {skirt/t-shirt/blazer} and putting them together with simple accessories.

Workwear: The Ankle Pant

March 11, 2013

{Black Stretch Ankle Pant ~ Target / Embellished Olive Top ~ Simply Vera via Kohl's {super old!} / Black and White Open Cardigan ~ Forever 21 / Leaopard and Patent Pumps ~ Issac Mizrahi for Target {super old!} / Pink Handbag ~ JustFab}

Thank you Sing for posting and linking these ankle pants from Target; they are pretty much amazing.  The fit is perfection and the length is even better.  I picked up three colors and I really need every single one of them.  They are the perfect workday basic. The length works well with both flats and heels - what could be better?!  I organized my closet a bit this weekend and moved some forgotten favorites to the front so that they are easy to grab.  Like this top.  It was the perfect thing to throw on this morning ... and even though I rocked these pants on Saturday with flats, I excitedly pulled them on again this morning for work. :)  Take that, Monday!

Striped!

March 7, 2013

{Striped Dress ~ Vintage via Etsy / Denim Jacket ~H&M / Black Suede Boots ~ Asos}

I absolutely love that I can pop this jean jacket on and change the entire feel of any outfit.  I have a feeling that it will be a staple this coming season.  :)

I am so looking forward to the weekend {even though I have to work for a few hours on Saturday {boo!}}.  I am spending March cleaning, organizing and beautifying my home {specifically adding some fresh color for the warmer months}.  I am excited to finally create a vanity area in my bedroom to do my hair/makeup, etc.  The project begins this weekend, can't wait!

Teal + Mustard

March 5, 2013

{Mustard Ponte Pants ~ Spiegel / Teal Silk Tunic ~ Thrifted / Bleached Denim Tuxedo Jacket ~ Rock & Replublic / Black Leather Wedge Pumps ~ Steve Madden / Jumbo Coral Gem Earrings ~ ASOS}

This outfit was so randomly put together and isn't the most appropriate for the office but on a tired Monday morning, I had to make it work. Lol!  I am getting bored with my closet lately, which is pretty dangerous as the urge to go overboard with buying new things will start to get stronger.  I need to spend a few hours reorganizing my closet, remembering and appreciating what I have and putting winter items away.  A thrifting trip is also in order.  Hopefully this weekend. :)

What do you do when you get bored with your closet? Besides go on a shopping spree?
