Where the Wild Things are!

{Feather Earrings, picked up from a jewelry boutique in NYC}

It is no secret that I love over-the-top jewelry, accessories ... and well, EVERYTHING.  The bolder, brighter ... the better.  When I saw these feather earrings while shopping in NYC last summer, specifically going to the huge Daffy's in Manhattan, I just had to get them.  I don't know what the name of the store was, or even what corner it was on - the minute I saw these in the window, I just had to go in!

I love how the feathers brush my shoulders.  These are definitely head-turners and need to be worn out on the town with a fabulous LBD or a cute top, jeans and heels.  I haven't officially worn them all put together with a cute outfit, but I can't wait until I do!

I also love these beauties below, from the Etsy shop, wildspirits.

Oh and speaking of feathers, check out this fabulously glamorous DIY that the talented and gorgeous Maegan, from ...love Maegan put together.

Thanks for reading!  One more day until the weekend.  And yes, I am counting down. :)

My honey and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at a very nice steakhouse on Sunday. It was nice to get out, without the kids and enjoy talking, laughing, sharing dinner and dessert and having a the best mojitos EVER!

We ended the night at my parents' having ice cream and cake and getting some cuddles from my adorable nephew, Cameron Alexander, who is just over a week old.  I seriously cannot stop snuggling and smelling him!

It was the perfect birthday celebration.

More pictures :)

P.S. - gave my blog a nickname!

I began the celebration of my birthday weekend with a surprise night out, organized by my best friends. We went to my favorite burger place in Northern Liberties, PYT. It was a really warm night, but there was a breeze so luckily, we were able to eat outside. It was the perfect night.  :)

Here are a few pictures:

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  It is so hot here in Philly!!  I am off to go get dolled up for a nice dinner with my honey.  We are going to Fleming's Steakhouse and Winebar.  So excited!!

{Seersucker pants ~ NY&Co / T-shirt ~ Target / Vintage stretch belt / Ruffle Scarf ~ H&M / Metallic Pumps ~ Kenneth Cole / Suede Fringe Bag ~ JJ Cole }

Keepin’ it real, the decision to wear the scarf like this was made right before I took these pics.

I had a cardigan over this t-shirt for work and had the scarf draped around my neck, since it is always freezing at my job. Of course, as soon as I hit the door, the heat almost knocked me over and I immediately ripped the cardigan off. The scarf was long enough to be slung over my neck and belted, giving the look of a long flyaway cardigan. The ruffles give this look a feminine touch and I adore it! I also love these seersucker ankle pants. They are so comfy and can go with anything.

Can’t wait to dress them down, cuffing them up and wearing them with white sneakers on the weekend.

Last night, I decided to add one of my bib necklaces, tulle and ribbon to this ivory clutch that I had picked up while thrifting. The sticker price was on the front of the bag, and when I peeled it off, it left a huge square light spot, right in the middle. What a great way to cover it. I LOVE how it turned out!!

Can’t wait to rock it this for my birthday weekend, THIS weekend. Yup, my 31st birthday is on Monday.

It should be a fun-filled summer hot weekend, so excited!

I have plans with my honey to have an early dinner at the most amazingly posh Steakhouse on Sunday. Can’t wait to get dolled up for that!

Also on the list to rock this weekend? These gorgeous feather earrings I picked up from a random accessories store in NYC, last summer. These earrings are HUGE in person and brush my shoulders. They are PERFECTION!

Stay tuned for a few outfit posts this weekend.  :)

To The Max

{Stretch Cotton Maxi Dress ~ Newport News, last summer / Linen Blazer ~ Metrostyle / Suede Booties ~ Nine West / Handbag ~ Cole Haan / Watch ~ D&G}

Ok, I am LOVING my tan!! Especially with a bright color like this coral-ly watermelon shade. This has to be my favorite color.

Maxi dresses and skirts are definitely my fave this summer. They are just so easy to just slip on and can be dressed up or down. They look good with both flats and heels, in my opinion. I must say, I feel FABULOUS sashaying around in a maxi with heels on.  hehe! :)

I thought it would be fun to pop this herringbone patterned linen blazer over it. Paired with the most comfortable pair of booties I own, this outfit comes together just like I imagined it would.

I can't believe how fast these weeks are going.  I can already imagine what the Fall will feel like.  I am seeing fall items in stores and on websites already and all of my August fashion magazines are all "what's going to be HOT this Fall".  A part of me is excited about leather boots and jackets ... but most of me just isn't ready.  I just want the summer to last forever.
Although... I can see this maxi dress with these luscious components to create a casually chic outfit that would be perfect for a date night:

What are you looking forward to wearing this fall?

Boy, did we have an amazingly fun DISNEY vacation!

The kiddies were in a state of pure excitement the entire weekend. From staying in our perfect hotel suite, swimming in the 24-hour pool, staying up past midnight giggling and telling scary stories, indulging in coffee for the first time ever, eating junk food everyday for a week straight, sleeping in past 9 and enjoying room service breakfasts, hugging Mickey and Minnie and riding rides as many times as their little hearts desired.

I thoroughly enjoyed making them happy and seeing their smiles. But. I am glad to be home.

If you follow me on twitter, you know that I was longing to wear heels. I made it a point to take casual outfits to wear, naturally, but I am not a casual kinda girl. I like to get dolled up. I was tired of wearing flip flops and gladiator sandals. BUT I survived. hehehe! … I am back with a new hair cut (that is a bit too short), a fresh mani and pedi and flaunting my Florida tan.

I have missed blogging and am still catching up on reading everyone’s updates and seeing the amazing outfits!

Here are a few of my favorite shots (of the 870 pictures I took last week).

{hubby mid-joke, hence the HUGE smile lol}
