I've got a special treat for you today! This delightful little dessert is SO simple and makes such a big impact. Although this would be epic to have on a hot summer, when strawberries are at their peak, this is actually a brilliant recipe for the winter season. Most of the strawberries available this time of year are not the sweetest, which is A-OK because the cherries in the cherry pie filling add the PERFECT sweetness!
I can't decide what I love most about this recipe: the sweet and tangy berry cherry filling or the chewy oat crumble topping. If you are looking for a simple dessert to have after Sunday dinner, look no further! This takes minutes to put together and in no time, this will be bubbling and on your table to be served up piping hot with vanilla ice cream!
OMG and the color? It's so vibrant - a complete show stopper. Who wouldn't want to eat this beauty?!
Ingredients:
1 21 Ounce Can Premium Cherry Pie Filling { this brand is my fave! }
2 Cups Sliced Fresh Strawberries
1 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1 Stick Melted Butter
{Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a 11"x7" baking dish, spread your cherry pie filling and top with the fresh strawberries. Set aside while you make the crumble topping}.
{In a large bowl, add the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt and mix well.}
{Add the stick of melted butter.}
{Mix well with a fork until it is well combined.}
{Spread the crumble mixture over the cherries and strawberries.}
{Sprinkle the entire thing with cinnamon.}
{Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Look at this bubbling beauty!}
{Serve hot with vanilla ice cream, of course!}
{The perfect delightful sweet treat to spoil your family with. They will clean their bowls with smiles on their faces, trust me! :)}
