Bold & Graphic Lines

September 12, 2011

Here is my version of the following trend for fall fashion:

lines / square prints / bold blocking / diamonds / clean angles / modern / grids / cubes / black and white / black and gray / color blocking /

{Navy Trousers ~ NY & Co / Orange Stretch Tank ~ Merona via Target / Navy and Khaki Striped Blazer ~ Thrifted / Taupe Leather Sandals ~ MRKT / Gold Lions head Necklace ~ Vintage.Thrifted /  Gold and Amber Necklace ~ Alfani via Macy's / Cognac Leather Bucket Handbag ~ Rachel Zoe}

So, of course, my interpretation of this trend had to involve stripes of some sort. Can you say OBSESSED? I have more stripes in my closet than I care to admit and this blazer is my favorite striped piece! It is so uniquely different; retro but modern at the same time. The sweet buttons on the sleeve seriously make me smile every time I look down! :)

I also decided to play up color blocking a bit by adding this bright orange tank against the deep navy trousers.

One of the main reasons I wanted to start this mini-series was to show how these trends can be worn in everyday life. I like to keep it simple, yet pulled together in the office so I didn't even want to try and go too high-fashion'esque. And that's my spin - not thinking too much about it or trying too hard. :)

I will also be trying black / white color blocking soon. I love how simple, modern and fab it looks.

So tell me, how will you be trying this trend?
xoxo, thanks for reading!

  37. My question/request is if you can write a blog post on how to buy or find the perfect blazer. I purchased on from Forever 21 last year and I bought it a size bigger. I have no idea why. Please help, I love your sense of fashion!

  40. thanks Erika! I surely will! Though my main tip will be ~ try it on and even if it doesn't button, if it's cute, get it! LOL. And nothing wrong with sizing up sometimes, the "boyfriend" look can be cute too.
