I went out for dinner and drinks with my sisters, cousin and my best girlfriends on Friday to celebrate my birthday and this is what I wore.  It was HOT and HUMID on Friday, so a tank and the shortest skirt possible was definitely necessary.  LOL.

This tunic was a super exciting purchase, but nerve wrecking all the same.  I ordered it on Wednesday for overnight delivery so that I could have it for Friday. Wasn't sure it would fit {size 12} and the top portion did drive me a bit insane, but I just had to make it work!  I am IN LOVE with the color and shape.  :)

I can also see this working well in the fall with leggings, a blazer and boots. Ugh, the fall.  I don't even want to think about it.  Can't we just have an endless summer?

xoxo, thanks for reading...I hope you had a great weekend!

Rediscovery

July 27, 2011

 {Green Gray Jersey Dress ~ Anthropologie / Spotted Cardi ~ Spiegel / Black and Gold Leaf Belt ~ Thrifted / Black and Gold Flats ~ Tory Burch / Handbag ~ LV Damier Azur Noe Bucket Bag / Gold Name Necklace ~ birthday gift! / Gold Crystal Bracelet ~ Kenneth Jay Lane / Nails ~ Essie "Mint Candy Apple"}

I decided to create an ombre effect with my hair with a bit of color and I love it! Just a little pizazz for my birthday. :)

I can't believe how tanned I am... I have the Florida sunshine to thank for that.

I love this little dress and "found" it in my closet this morning when I remember that today was "Neutral Wednesday". ...AND after having a mini closet breakdown, not knowing what I was going to wear.  Oddly, I thought I hated it, but I actually adore it.  A rediscovery for sure. The drop waist makes it a bit casual, but I dressed it up a bit with this fun belt.

I think it's so funny how my legs are crossed in every pic.  I chuckled when uploading these...literally in every one, I had the same pose.  LOL!  I think it's the flats... I can't help but point my toe in flats, because I feel so short.  Weird!

xoxo, thanks for reading and for the birthday wishes!  I was seriously at work smiling all day reading them. :)

Fruit and Yogurt Parfaits

July 25, 2011

The dog days of summer are upon us and it is HOT here in Philly.  So hot that the thought of cooking over a stove or even eating a warm meal when it is 90+ degrees out makes me break out into a sweat, LOL.

Dinner for us has been cool and refreshing.  Cucumber salad, club sandwiches, chicken salad, etc.  I like to have fruit and yogurt parfaits for dinner.  So filling and refreshing and oh so DELICIOUS! :)

Here's what I do:

{I like to chop pineapple and strawberries really small and then add blueberries.  I let them sit in the fridge {or freezer} together until the juices develop and everything gets nice and icy cold. Any fruit would work for this. I also love adding chopped up peaches when we have them.}

{I like to use strawberry yogurt, but I have also used plain or vanilla and it's still delicious. Any flavor would work, really.  Your favorite brand of granola is just fine {Grapenuts would probably work too}. I LOVE "Just Bunches!" by Honey Bunches of Oats.  I like to add honey too... it adds rich sweetness and is just tasty, I can drizzle honey on anything, LOL!}

{Begin layering in a pretty glass or bowl.  I start with the yogurt.}

{Then add the fruit.}

{Be sure to put the granola on top of the fruit and NOT the yogurt, to maintain the crunch. :)}

{And repeat.}

{Right before the last layer, I drizzle the honey.  YUMMM!}

{ENJOY.  and repeat if needed.  LOL!  I could eat 3 of these, so good!  These are great for breakfast too. {obviously!}}

Family Vacation 2011

July 24, 2011

We had an amazing Orlando / Disney family vacation; it was everything I could have hoped for and more!

We relaxed {mostly} enjoying the waterparks Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach to cool off, then going to dinner every night as a family.  It felt great to enjoy each other's company, doing whatever we felt like doing for an entire week.  Our hotel was AMAZING {especially the breakfast and the pool} and the location was perfect!
Looking forward to enjoying the memories of this vacation, until the next one...next summer.  I'm thinking BEACH. :)

Here are some pics... I really enjoyed taking these using the Instagram app, via my iPhone. :)

Summer Tribe

July 16, 2011

{Jeans ~ Source Of Wisdom via Torrid / Tribal Printed Tunic ~ Chelsea and Violet / Lace-up Fringe Moccasins ~ "Stranded" {found them on clearance in Daffy's} / Bangles ~ Street Vendor and Thrifted / Nail Polish ~ Toes: "Sun Worshiper"by China Glaze / Nails: "Bare It On Trafalgar Square" by OPI}
So these shoes have been deemed my pedicure shoes.... it seems like every time I wear them, it's a pedicure day.  It also just so happens that these show an abnormal amount of toe; pretty much every toe is exposed, LOL!  It's a little weird but I still love them.

I also wore a pair of the most amazing vintage sunglasses today, but forgot to take them out of the car for these pics.  We left the shoot location {hehe} to get started on our last minute errands for our vacation and we were supposed to pull over to take a few shots with my shades on, but forgot. Womp womp.  They will make an appearance soon enough, they are so fab!

Off to finish packing for vacay {leaving Sunday}; I am determined to pack really light, which means dresses ONLY for me.  Easy and perfect for the heat. Wish me luck. :)

xoxo, thanks for reading and have a fantastic weekend!
