Skirt ~ Energy - Target, Belt ~ Torrid, T-shirt ~ Elle, Straw Clutch ~ Banana Republic}

’Twas a very eventful weekend. I shopped, shopped and shopped some more, saw SATC2 twice, ate really good (but not good for you) food, hung out with my extended family, and my in-laws, danced with my cousins, ate cake, rode a bike, jumped rope, read, relaxed, sipped cocktails, slurped water ice, and got tipsy with my husband. And maybe a few other fun things. ;)

All in all, it was a wonderfully warm, sunny, happy weekend. And I get to participate in the grand finale tomorrow. A big block party at my mom/dad’s, in honor of my beautiful cousin Nogah (above) who graduated from LIM college last week. I suspect good food will be eaten all day.

Wordy Wednesday no.1

Decided to start this weekly feature of wordy Wednesday. Please pardon my tardiness this first week, lol.

- This week is going by fairly quickly. I have quite a bit of socializing to do this weekend, including 2 cook-outs, a graduation party and a few movie dates to see SATC 2. I love everything about Memorial Day weekend aka the unofficial start of the summer.

- I am looking forward to the last day of school for the kiddies on June 19th. That usually officially marks the first day of summer for us. Cory and I discussed plans for the summer and taking small weekend trips. Starting with a BIG family vacation for a week in July to Disney World. We are all really excited. I created a countdown calendar that my Isis just cannot wait to cross off each day!

Speaking of Disney and Isis, gonna get this dress from this insanely talented Etsy seller for her to wear when we go breakfast with Mickey and Minnie.

- How cute is this cross-body parrot bag I scored via asos a few weeks ago? It will definitely be making its debut this weekend.

- Today is a “nail day” (one of the days that I soak, file, buff and polish my nails, I normally do it on Sunday and Wednesday, depending on how quickly I tire of the color I have on when Sunday and Wednesday rolls around, lol). This time (well almost every time), I can’t decide on a color ( I guess that is bound to happen when you have ‘quantity’ issues).

I am thinking another bright, funky color. This blue has made me smile every time I look down at my fingers (even as I type this).
{Sally Hansen ~ "Blue Me Away"}

Leaning toward this purple or pink.

{VIP ~ "Neon Power Pack" and essie ~ "Bermuda Shorts"}

- I think I have an obsession with shiny and sparkly things : Exhibit A: and B:

But in my defense, the stapler and tape dispenser was a (very generous) gift. The cell phone case, I just HAD to have. My sister has one too.. they are super affordable, here.

- Been drinking a lot of this lately ~ ice water with lemon, yum!  I get so thirsty when the weather is warm.

- My older sister and I are giving my younger sister a baby shower, I am hosting it in my home. Here is the invite I created... so excited!

Can't wait to put everything together.  Gonna be the cutest shower ever with plenty of good food, treats, games and company. :)

Thanks for reading!! xoxoxo!

Animal ♥ Print

{Ruched skirt and ruffled zebra blouse ~ Torrid, Blazer and Belt ~ thrifted, Pumps ~ Steve Madden}

First of all, I am obsessed with animal print.

I have my eye on this skirt from Torrid.  How fab would this be on a hot summer night in the city?? :

I lost count of how many animal printed pieces I own, be it shoes, tops, belts or handbags/clutches. I know animal print can be scary for some people, or maybe it's just not their taste, but for me, it just feels right. I even own a pair of zebra printed skinny jeans from Torrid, purchased last year. Worn with a brightly colored t-shirt, it was indeed a great look. I will be pulling those babies out soon!

Are animal prints for you? How much is too much?

Easy ... breezy.

{Dress ~ thrifted, booties ~ Mossimo for Target, Belt ~ vintage}

Currently wishing I had this dress in every single color and print imaginable. If it were possible, I would wear one every. single. day in the summer. What a perfectly light, airy and comfy dress for warm summer days. It is of the most light-weight paper thin chiffon. Summer-time perfection.

This can be worn a few different ways... I played around with wearing it longer with the skirt falling right at the shin for a more modest (read: matronly) look.  I also enjoyed hiking it up and belting it for a flirty look.  I can see this with leggings and a tank underneath, leaving the buttons open in the front... resulting in the dress swaying in the breeze.

Of course, I found this while thrifting. I normally send all of my thrifted finds to the dry cleaner, soon after I bring them home. I decided to wash this one by hand and popped it in a cool dryer for a few minutes, which resulted in an even softer dress than before I washed it.  Easy, breezy.

Speaking of breezy.  My Caribbean blue nails and toes.  FUN and funky ~ oh, how I love this color!

P.S. loving my new chopped-but fluffy and layered-asymmetrical bob.  Warmer months = shorter hair.

HAWT Pink

{Blazer ~ vintage/thrifted, Pants ~ Elle, Lace blouse ~ Newport News, Belt ~ Old Navy, Ivory Platforms ~ Urban Originals}

I give you… my new favorite blazer!

Found this baby while thrifting with my mom and sisters. It is one of the two bright and oversized blazers I scored that day. I was so excited to finally wear this! I love the contrast of the bright pink with the ivory belt and blouse.

Of course I wore black slacks again. *note to self, buy more pants that are NOT black. I seriously have about 20 pairs of black pants. YIKES!

Oh, and these ivory platforms? ADORE!

At Play.

{Jeans ~ Z. Cavaricci, T-Shirt ~ Target, Sandals ~ Aldo}

{How cute is my Isis?} Love her!!! :)

Gloriously fun day today with my honey and the kiddies. Family Fun Day is what it’s called. :)

We ran errands, shopped for a new car (made no decision yet…UGH!), lunched, and played at the park. I decided to go casual-but-not with my favorite jeans, a tee and these ridiculously comfortable suede ankle straps that I had for ages! They are vintage Aldo (ha-ha), circa 2004 (if not earlier).

Going to try really hard to have Family Fun Day every weekend. It’s the perfect day when I am with my family, making memories, laughing, talking, playing games and being silly. Makes me feel like I am the luckiest woman in this world.
